Written by Melissa, Founder of World of Hearts LLC
I guess in this blog post I just want to talk about myself a little. I donāt really do that much, but I think itās time. I want you guys to know why I even started this.
Honestly, Iāve been through a lot in life. There were times I needed help ā a place to stay, somewhere to shower, food, gas, a job, or just someone who cared enough to give me a ride. Iāve had some really hard chapters⦠abusive relationships, too ā and if youāve been through one, you know itās never just one type. Itās all of it ā emotional, physical, mental. And it changes you.
But if it wasnāt for the people who helped me ā some Iāll never see again, some who probably donāt even realize what they did ā I truly donāt know where Iād be. And for that, Iām thankful every single day. š
So thatās why I started World of Hearts LLC. Because I wanted to be that person for someone else. I wanted to make helping easier. Whether itās finding sponsors for nonprofits, hosting mini fundraisers, or connecting people who want to give back but donāt know where to start ā I wanted to be that bridge.
Iām not a big fancy organization, and I donāt have all the answers. Iām just someone who knows what it feels like to need help ā and what it means when someone shows up for you. Thatās what this is all about.
So when I ask for sponsors or partners, itās not just about money. Itās about people who have a heart like mine ā people who remember getting help once and now want to pass that forward. Itās about businesses that want to be part of something good, something human, something that brings our community together.
Thatās what partnering with World of Hearts LLC really means. š
Every dollar, every partnership, every volunteer ā it all helps keep our fundraisers free for nonprofits, so they can focus on what they do best: helping others.
I know this might sound a little messy, but thatās real life. And thatās what World of Hearts is ā real people, helping people. Because sometimes, all someone needs is another heart willing to help them through. šāØ

Iāve been volunteering for a long time. Honestly, Iāve done a little bit of everything ā from ushering at events, running a cash register, and giving directions⦠to putting together gift baskets or picking up donations for fundraisers.
Hereās the truth: I donāt have one āfavoriteā nonprofit or cause. And thatās okay. Some people feel strongly about supporting a certain organization, and others (like me) just jump in where help is needed most. Both approaches matter. But hereās where the win-win comes in ā especially for businesses.
Why Volunteer Matching Works:
Volunteer matching is exactly what it sounds like: connecting people (or groups of employees) to opportunities that fit their time, skills, or passions. For businesses, this isnāt just about doing good ā itās about creating impact in three big ways:
⨠Employee Engagement
When your team gets to step out of the office and volunteer together, they build bonds, gain perspective, and feel proud of the company they represent.
⨠Community Visibility
Every time your business shows up at a local event, your brand is seen as a community leader. People remember who stepped in and helped.
⨠Personal Fit
Not every volunteer role looks the same. Some people thrive at front-and-center jobs like ushering or greeting. Others love behind-the-scenes tasks like making baskets, setting up tables, or driving supplies. Helping people discover their ābest fitā means theyāll want to do it again.
Finding Your Favorite = The Win-Win
When individuals (or teams) find their favorite way to volunteer, magic happens:
The nonprofit gets consistent, passionate support.
The volunteer feels fulfilled and valued.
The business sponsoring that time or team gains credibility and goodwill in the community.
Thatās why volunteer matching is so powerful. Itās not about filling every role with whoever you can get. Itās about creating the right match so everyone wins.
Where World of Hearts Fits In:
š¤This is why we do what we do at World of Hearts LLC. We help connect the dots between volunteers, nonprofits, and businesses. Because sometimes the hardest part of giving back isnāt the desire ā itās knowing where to start.
šWhether youāve got a few hours, a team of employees, or just a willingness to help, thereās a place for you.šIf youāre curious about how your business can benefit from volunteer matching ā or youāre just looking for your own āfavoriteā way to give back ā letās grab coffee ā. Weād love to brainstorm how to make it a win-win for you and our community.

When you picture a fundraiser, you probably think about the excitement of raffle prizes, event decorations, and that moment when a donation changes someoneās life. But hereās the part most people donāt see: the behind-the-scenes costs that make it all possible. Venue rentals. Marketing materials. Gas for deliveries. Tables, chairs, and sometimes even sound systems. These costs are a reality for every nonprofit eventāand they add up quickly.
Thatās where our sponsors come in!!
At World of Hearts LLC, weāve built a system that flips the script. Sponsors cover the tab so nonprofits keep 100% of the donations they raise. Itās simple, powerful, and a huge reason why weāre able to focus on helping, not hustling for overhead.
š Why This Matters:
When sponsors step up, nonprofits can stay mission-focused. Instead of worrying about bills or logistics, they can dedicate their time and energy to serving families, kids, and individuals in need. Your support creates a ripple effect that makes every donation stretch further.
š” What Sponsorship Looks Like:
Sponsorship doesnāt have to mean a giant check. It could be:
Printing event flyers or donating design services
Providing space for a fundraiser
Supplying gas cards or rental equipment
Offering marketing expertise to amplify nonprofit reach
Whether itās cash, connections, or contributions of time and talent, sponsorship creates a partnershipāa bridge between businesses and nonprofits that strengthens the entire community.
š¬ A Heartfelt Thank You
To every sponsor who has already stepped up: youāre the unsung heroes of every fundraiser, silent auction, and volunteer initiative we pull off. Youāre the reason our city keeps giving.

Because when local sponsors cover the costs, nonprofits can cover more hearts. š
Together, weāre creating real help for the people who stepped up and started nonprofitsāthose who saw a need and said, āIāve got this.ā Whether itās clothing, food, housing, jobs, or just a little support in tough times, nonprofits are out there every day filling gaps for our community.
But hereās the truth: doing all that costs money. Even the most passionate mission needs gas in the tank, space to meet, and marketing to spread the word. Thatās where businesses like yours come in.
š Sponsorship is the simplest way to make a big difference.
Even if a nonprofit already has some support, your contribution keeps the lights on and the good flowing. Every bit helpsāwhether itās cash, donating items, covering space or rentals, or just showing up.
Volunteering is another powerful way to helpāyouāll see firsthand the heart and hustle of these nonprofits. Or maybe itās as simple as buying a ticket to a fundraiser, sharing an event online, or hitting āfollowā on social media. Small actions, big ripple effects.
š At World of Hearts LLC, we believe generosity should feel easyāand fun. Together, we can pour back into Colorado Springs in ways that change lives.
